Thulium(III) Chloride

Thulium(III) chloride hexahydrate is a white crystalline powder with the chemical formula TmCl3 · 6H2O. It is a hydrated salt of thulium and chloride ions.

Thulium(III) chloride hexahydrate is used as a raw material for the production of other thulium compounds, and as a dopant in the production of lasers and phosphors for lighting and display applications. It is also used in the preparation of various ceramic materials and in some organic synthesis reactions.

In addition to its industrial applications, thulium(III) chloride hexahydrate has some potential medical uses. It has been studied for its potential as a therapeutic agent in the treatment of certain cancers, particularly prostate cancer, and has been shown to have anti-tumor activity in some preclinical studies.

Applications

1.Thulium Chloride has specialized uses in ceramics, glass, phosphors, lasers, and also is an important dopant for fiber amplifiers.

2.Thulium Chloride is an excellent water-soluble crystalline Thulium source for uses compatible with chlorides.

3. Chloride compounds can conduct electricity when fused or dissolved in water.

4. Chloride materials can be decomposed by electrolysis to chlorine gas and metal.
