Barium Chromate

Barium chromate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula BaCrO4. It is a yellow crystalline powder, insoluble in water, combustible when heated, the flame is green, and it is decomposed into BaCr2O4 and Ba3Cr2O6 above 900 °C.  It is mainly used to make pigments, ceramics, glass, safety matches, etc.

Barium chromate is an anti-corrosive jointing compound that inhibits electrolytic corrosion between dissimilar metals. It is often used in the aerospace industry, has low solubility in water and will not erode over time.
