Zinc fluorosilicate  (ZnSiF₆) is a colorless hexagonal prismatic crystal or white crystalline powder with a strong pungent odor. It is soluble in water and soluble in inorganic acids, but insoluble in ethanol. When heated to 100°C, zinc fluorosilicate decomposes into silicon tetrafluoride, water, and zinc fluoride.

Zinc fluorosilicate is an inorganic compound with a variety of applications. It is mainly used as a rapid hardener for concrete, a wood preservative, a plaster reinforcing agent, a post-washing treatment agent, a moth repellent and a catalyst for the production of polyester fibers. In addition, it is used in electrolytic baths for the configuration of zinc.

1. Concrete rapid hardener: Zinc fluorosilicate can accelerate the hardening process of concrete and improve the early strength.

2. Wood preservative: It is used in wood treatment to prevent fungal and insect attacks and prolong the life of wood.

3. Plaster reinforcing agent: In the construction industry, zinc fluorosilicate can enhance the performance of plaster, improving its strength and durability.

4. Post-wash treatment agent: In the textile industry, it can be used as a post-wash treatment agent to improve the performance of fabrics.

5. Mothproof: Zinc fluorosilicate can be used as a mothproofing agent to protect the material from moths.

6. Catalyst for polyester fiber production: In the chemical industry, it is used as a catalyst for the production of polyester fibers.

7. Electrolytic bath with zinc: In electroplating and electrolysis processes, zinc fluorosilicate is used to configure the electrolyte to produce zinc coatings.
