Manganese nitrate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Mn(NO3)2, it appears as a rose-red crystalline powder. Denser than water. May ignite on contact with organic matter. Contact may irritate skin, eyes and mucous membranes. May be toxic by ingestion.

  • Uses

One of the primary uses of manganese nitrate is as a catalyst in producing chemicals and plastics. It is also used in the production of fertilizers and as a herbicide.

It is mainly used as a reagent and oxidant for the determination of silver in trace analysis, and can also be used for the preparation of electronic components and phosphating treatment on metal surfaces.
