Aluminum Metaphosphate

Aluminum metaphosphate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Al(PO₃)₃. It is a white solid that usually exists in the form of an amorphous powder. Metaphosphate occurs in nature in the form of minerals, the most common mineral form being red phosphorite.

Aluminium metaphosphate is used in a wide range of applications, including as a catalyst, adsorbent, ceramic material, and as a feed additive. Industrially, it is also used in water treatment, papermaking, and as an anti-caking agent. Due to its thermal and chemical stability, metaphosphate is also used as a fire retardant and flame retardant.

1. Catalyst: Aluminum metaphosphate can be used as a catalyst or catalyst carrier in chemical synthesis processes, such as in petrochemical and fine chemicals.

2. Adsorbent: It can be used as an adsorbent to remove heavy metal ions or organic pollutants in solution.

3. Ceramic Materials: Aluminum metaphosphate can be used as a component of ceramic materials to manufacture high-temperature and wear-resistant ceramic products.

4. Feed additives: In animal feed, aluminum metaphosphate can be used as a phosphorus source supplement to provide essential phosphorus.

5. Water Treatment: In the water treatment process, aluminum metaphosphate can be used to flocculate and purify water quality, helping to remove suspended solids and contaminants.

6. Paper Industry: Aluminum metaphosphate can be used as an additive in the paper industry to help improve the quality and strength of the paper.

7. Anti-caking agent: In the storage and transportation of powdered substances, aluminum metaphosphate can be used as an anti-caking agent to prevent the substance from caking.

8. Fire retardant: Due to its good heat resistance and non-flammability, aluminum metaphosphate can be used as a fire retardant additive for plastics, rubber, coatings and other materials.

9. Abrasives and polishes: In the field of abrasives and polishing, metaphosphate can be used to make high-hardness abrasives and polishes.
