Calcium Stannate

Calcium Stannate is an inorganic compound  with the chemical formula CaSn(OH)6 that is usually found as a white powder. It is produced by the reaction of stannic acid with calcium hydroxide or by the metathesis reaction of stannate with calcium salt. Calcium stannate is a substance that is insoluble in water and has high thermal stability.

Main uses of calcium stannate

1. Anticorrosive agent: Calcium stannate has good anti-corrosion properties and is often used in coatings, paints and plastic products to prevent corrosion and deterioration of materials.

2. Flame retardant: Calcium stannate can be used as a flame retardant for plastics, rubber, fibers and other materials to improve the flame retardant performance of materials.

3. Adhesives: In some applications, calcium stannate can be used as an adhesive for bonding materials such as metals, ceramics, glass, etc.

4. Catalyst: Calcium stannate can be used as a catalyst or catalyst carrier to promote chemical reactions in chemical production.

5. Hardener: In building materials, calcium stannate can be used as a hardener to improve the hardness and wear resistance of the material.

6. Plating material: Calcium stannate can be used as a component of electroplating solution for electroplating metals, such as copper, nickel, chromium, etc., to increase its corrosion resistance and aesthetics.

7. Ceramic industry: In the ceramic industry, calcium stannate can be used as a flux to reduce the sintering temperature of ceramics and improve the density and finish of products.
